We have been working hard to rebuild our 2010-2011 robot to compete in the IROC competition Nov 5.

Measuring to build a new mount for the pneumatics compressor

Preparing the aluminum for a bumper attachment

Programming.  In JAVA!

Bending the polycarbonate for a new circuitboard

10/13/11 : Java Code Working

posted Oct 13, 2011, 4:46 PM by Brian Wheeler

Several students stayed until they were kicked out as the building closed.  The robot is now fully functional with Java code, and for the first time, the code was written fully by students!  Thanks to Mr. Paul for coming by to give some Java lesson

Gilmar and Dennis work on the coding

A few hours was spend aligning the robot's elevator and it now moves up and down smoothly - A nice change!
Wendy and Moshood fix the elevator

The Java learning process has been terrific and we've been excited to learn how to code in what we feel is a more flexible environment.  A new mentor, Jacob, has been doing a terrific job helping us learn.

This IS hands on learning!

Bell Robotics team is growing quickly.  It is only September and on Friday, 12 students came after school until 6:30 - the second meeting of the week.  The robot communicates with our programming computers now, and we began testing the line following code.  Kayode even took a video:

The robot's camera is also now working!
